Metroid Pinball!

Posted by Buddy on 25 Feb 2006 | Tagged as: Gaming

Metroid Prime Pinball is the shiznit. I like games I can just pop in and play five minutes at a time when I’m bored. My current high score is 7.8 million. Which is pretty impressive since the record before that was 2.5 million. My score keeps going up exponentially. If the pattern follows, the next time I play I’ll get up to 27.3 million.

So, in conclusion, I highly recommend Metroid Prime Pinball. Especially for people who aren’t really gamers, since it’s easy to play and get into. It doesn’t require any sort of mental investment, and there’s no deep story to get engrossed in and lose your life to. Cuz that’s been known to happen.

I give it a 7,824,273 out of ten.

Song of the Day #2

Don’t you give up, don’t allow disaster
Don’t you give up, don’t you let her win
We’re talking about a forever after
Don’t you give up, don’t you dare give in
Don’t you give up, don’t you dare give in

Doesn’t it seem most precarious
Doesn’t it seem such a chance to take
Doesn’t it seem most precarious
Why does it feel like a big mistake

Please understand and hear what I’m saying
The time is now and you don’t have long
She could be oceans away tomorrow
So soon your chance will have come and gone
So soon your chance will have come and gone

Doesn’t it seem most precarious
Doesn’t it seem such a chance to take
Doesn’t it seem most precarious
Why does it feel like a big mistake

The tightwire’s strung and you’re out in the middle
All eyes upon you, no net below
Inches to go and you’re almost home free
Feel the wire swinging to and fro
Feel the wire swinging to and fro

Doesn’t it seem most precarious
Doesn’t it seem such a chance to take
Doesn’t it seem most precarious
Why does it feel like it’d be a damn shame
It’d be forever if it meant a day
How stoically I exclaim
When she turns from me and walks away

The light in her eyes, explanation escapes you
Longing to please and not feel alone
And she doesn’t know it, but really she loves you
Some day so soon you’re gonna make it home
Some day so soon you’re gonna make it home

Doesn’t it seem most precarious
Doesn’t it seem such a chance to take
Doesn’t it seem most precarious
Why does it feel like a big mistake

Doesn’t it seem most precarious
Doesn’t it seem such a chance to take
Doesn’t it seem most precarious
Why does it feel like a big mistake

Homophobia

Posted by Buddy on 22 Feb 2006 | Tagged as: General

Just a random rant. I’m sick of the word “homophobe” and its derrivatives. The suffix “-phobe” implies fear. Irrational fear, actually. But bigotry isn’t fear. I think they need to find a new word.

Do you call a racist an afrophobe? Or a hebrewphobe? Do you call a sexist a vaginaphobe? I think not. Just because someone’s prejudiced doesn’t mean they’re afraid.

Why do I mention this? this is why. I’ve never personally been called a homophobe, sexist, or racist (actually, one person called me a racist, but prolonged discussion revealed him to be the true racist). Anyway… carry on.

Once again…

…I’m disappointed in humanity. Though I should learn to expect it by now.

Read this and tell me you don’t think those parents need to be slapped. Hard.

I’ve already volunteered to donate a dollar if someone sets up a paypal or something. But only if it’s to buy the kid a camera. She shouldn’t have to buy a new camera because of shitty parents. But if the kid returns the camera, I’d be happy to help him get a new one.

Also, this is my first time sending trackbacks. I hope it works, cuz neither site has a specific trackback url listed.

[update]: Wow, this thing’s all over the web. I hope those idiots get the clue. The person who lost the camera has so far (rightly) refused to post their information, but someone will find it eventually. Such is the power of the web.

Wow.

My mind is boggling!

The Infosphere

Posted by Buddy on 16 Feb 2006 | Tagged as: Web

By the by, in case you haven’t noticed, I’ve set up a Futurama Wiki, which goes by the name of “The Infosphere”. Thanks mostly to the guy who calls himself “Gopher,” it’s coming along quite nicely. I thought it was the first Futurama Wiki out there. It wasn’t. But now it’s the biggest (and most comprehensive).

So, if you ever come to this side of my site: Thanks, Gopher.

Anyone who’s not Gopher would do well to click the link. Before I eat your firstborn (except you, Mom — I’m not eating myself).

Clarion Link

In response to this post on Boing Boing, I’m posting a free link to this thingy for writers. Of course, my site’s traffic is so low, it’ll probably decrease their numbers, but hey. At least I tried.

Song of the Day

Posted by Buddy on 10 Feb 2006 | Tagged as: General

Here’s a song. For today.

(feel good)
(feel good)
City’s breaking down on a camel’s back
They just have to go cuz they don’t know wack
So all ya fill the streets it’s appealing to see
You won’t get undercounted cause you’re damn ass free

You got a new horizon it’s ephemaral style
Melancholy town where we never smile
And all I want to hear is the message beep
My dreams they come a kissin’ cause I don’t get sleep, no

Windmill, windmill for the land
Turn forever, hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
It is ticking, falling down
Love forever love is free
Turn forever you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?

Laughing gas, these haz mats
Fast cat, lining them up like ass cracks
Lay these ponies at the track
It’s my chocolate attack
Shoot I’m stepping in hotter this year
Care bear reppin’ it harder this year
Watch me as I gravitate hahaha

We gon’ ghost town this Motown
With your sound, you’re in the blink
Gon’ bite the dust, can’t fight with us
With your sound you kill the inc.
So don’t stop, get it, get it
Until your Cheddar’s heavy
And watch the way I navigate ha ha ha ha ha
(feel good)
(feel good)
(feel good)
(feel good)

Windmill, windmill for the land
Turn forever hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
It is ticking, falling down
Love forever, love is free
Turn forever, you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?

Don’t stop, get it, get it
We are your captains in it
Steady watch me navigate
Don’t stop get it, get it
We are your captains in it
Steady watch me navigate

(feel good)

Note that no two lyrics sites agree on the lyrics, and playing the song at half-speed doesn’t clarify matters (except there’s an excellent Satanic muffin recipe).

Pointless post? Perhaps. Did you enjoy it? Perhaps not.

[update]: Oh, by the way, that was Gorillaz with “Feel Good, Inc.” in case you cared. Whee!

Site Update

Posted by Buddy on 08 Feb 2006 | Tagged as: Web

I’ve added two new sites to the front page. And rewrote the css to make adding new things easier. Not that I can think of anything I’ll ever want to add. But just in case.

Comments on the design of the front page, as well as the sites, are welcome. Except the photos one. I only do the photos. The way it looks is just the default of the Gallery thingy. Oh, same with the Futurama one, too, I guess. Default stuff. I guess someday I’ll get around to styling this area. Unstyled indeed.

Just, fyi: “Nonetheless” is one word! No hyphens, no spaces.
