I just finished reading “Cell” by Stephen King. Very good book. I’d highly recommend it to every King fan, as well as anyone else. It makes me paranoid about my cell phone. I don’t want to be a zombie. Seriously.
The only problem I had with the book was the ambiguous ending. It’s okay now and then, but I like to know what happens. In addition, the book was relatively short, for a Stephen King book, but the story was more or less complete, so no major complaints there.
And from a technical standpoint, King’s editors have proven themselves yet again. No typos that I noticed. There almost never are.
(And you thought this post would have substance!)

One of the search terms someone used to find my site: “photography and the retarded”
What’s the deal with that? Luckily, only one person used that, so it’s not a trend or anything…

Just a pointless post about a thing.
Secret Identity — Click on the computer screen at the end. Strong Sad totally reminds me of… well, me.

Well, as you can see on the front page, Barracks Adventures is back and awesomer than ever. Sorry it took so long since the last issue, but I’ll be trying to get one out per month now. At least.
A quote from my post on Barracks Network:
Finally.
I’m hoping I can get these going at least one per month. So far, I’m doing pretty good with a score of one out of one.
Hope you like. Unfortunately, twenty panels is about as long as I can get before needing to stop (the longest one so far is 22, I think) — but I couldn’t have finished this one in two or three more panels, so I had to do a continuation again. Luckily, you won’t have to wait as long. There’s about to be tons more action and awesomeness.
I’ve re-done the “Back Issues” page, to divide them into “Volumes” — a yearly grouping (mainly cuz it’s January…) — but also to give a bonus zero issue. Most of you have seen it, but some might not have. It’s nothing special, really, but maybe sentimental or historical…
There you go.
Hope everyone likes it.
Also, there’s a new page, the only one in the right column under “Pages” — it lets you know what I’m up to. I may end up reviewing stuff, too. But probably not.

Yesterday my tv broke. There we were, and suddenly the crazy thing started making snapping, electrical sounds and promptly shut itself down. Being the genius that I am, I immediately fired it back up, surprised to hear the same sounds followed by it turning itself off again. A few more tries and I finally conceded that it might be broken — or angry.
I was forced to find other ways to keep my mind occupied.

He doesn’t play dvd’s very well. Nor does he display any actual channels. Now that I think about it, he wasn’t very entertaining, after all.
Oh well.

Here’s the first (and maybe last) installment of “Facial Stylings,” in which I’ll take requests and attempt to recreate various beard and moustache styles. For example, you could request the Fu Manchu, the Goatee, or the Soul Patch, and I’ll do it and post pictures.
Why? you ask. Because, my facial hair grows at a freakish rate, and I can do whatever I want with it, knowing that it’ll only take a week to repair itself. And why not?
So, to get things started, I’ll start with a simple one:

“The Porn Star” or “The State Trooper”
Can’t decide which to call this one. So, go ahead and make requests, and if they’re creative enough, I might pick them and feature them in future Facial Stylings.

Happy new year to all. Unless you’re Chinese. In which case, you have twenty-seven more days left of the year of the dog rooster.
My resolution for the year is, as far as I’m concerned, a pretty big one: I’m going to get something published. Anything between a full-length novel (difficult) and a short story in a magazine (relatively simpler). At this point, I don’t even care if I’m only paid in contributor’s copies, as long as something of mine gets out there. Though I know certain men’s magazines pay in the thousands if they want one of your stories.
What’s your resolution?
